Rehab Run

Notes

This was my first run since the Battan Memorial Death March Marathon on 23 Mar 14. In prep for Battan, I ran in a lot of snow and ice (It was a bad winter this year -- even by New England standards). I had hurt my lef knee running in the ice and snow. My body adjusted, and my right Achillies was injured (two injuries). I kept running, then my right knee went out (three injuries)...I got to the point all I was doing was long runs. Weather was so cold (which really just a secondary issue) that I'd have to wait until noon--just so it would warm up past 25 degrees.

Again, this is the first run since Battaan. It was short, just the first part of the base loop--and I purposley didn't time it (I didn't want to cry...lol). Joints at the moment seem fine...I still have soreness in my left knee--something that I have yet to overcome despite 2 a week visit to physical therapy (each session is about two hours). I'm sure I'll know the final result tomorrow morning when I wake up--Wednesday morning at the very latest. For the record, I asked the physical therapist if I could run--she said that the injuries should have healed.....even though we needed to do more work.

Oh well, I did some swimming, which is not logged here, as I'm trying how to swim properly. While I made progress, I still have a lot of problem with my breathing. So, I can now (happily) swim 50 yards without stopping (sometimes...lol). The reason they aren't logged is becasue I don't have a metric for, "Swam 30 feet, stood up--caught my breath, swam the the 25 yard marker. Doing the best I can...........can't ask a person to do more than that!
