38F and windy at Noon start from Lock 29.
Intent for the run was 5 miles easy, 5-6 miles at marathon-pace effort, and 2-3 easy cool-down for 13 total. And that is pretty much what happened, although I never felt springy or fast. Felt cold and a little heavy throughout. Diet wasn't the greatest yesterday, either.
Between work and the frigid Indians home opener (+ rain delay), ended up taking a day off yesterday. Good reason as any for a day to regenerate. Froze my ass off last night downtown; cold front brought gusts that continued into today.
Wore the HR monitor but did not explicitly set effort by HR. Set out aiming for 7:00/mile pace, that's about how it went down, if just a little fast. Not sure about my MP goal pace quite yet...3 weeks to go...
