Notes

First off, I know I can go faster. This race left me with a twinge of disappointment, as I’m sure it left those that watched it. I settled in too far back from the beginning so when it was time to move, the group I was with was not moving. I split 61, 62, 66, 61 so obviously that 3rd 400 was less than ideal.

Secondly, this was a pretty good race. I can’t really be upset about a PR and a school record. I felt smooth and my legs were responsive despite my completely f-d up foot. 2 or three guys fell in front of me sometime during the 3rd 400 and I was able to keep my rhythm and get around them just fine. I beat Perrin Hagge of Princeton by 3 seconds who used to crush me in high school. Great learning experience overall. As I was cooling down, I saw Craig Engles doing a workout on the outdoor track about 30 minutes after running 3:53 in the mile. Also got Cheserek’s signature yesterday. I had him sign my bag and it wasn’t really working with the pen I gave him so he was like, “aw what the hell man, shittt maannn,” as he was trying to sign it which I though was pretty hilarious.

Excited to get this foot taken care of and get a couple good weeks of training in. I’ll probably have to run another mile to qualify for nats.
