Notes

This race was a very good step in the right direction for me. Even being decently sick and having some up and down training lately with my foot, I was able to put down a good time. I felt pretty good during the race, but the last couple laps I just felt like I couldn't get my legs to go any faster. I think that's a good sign - I'm really strong right now, and probably in great 5k shape, but I'm just not "fine tuned" yet. I haven't really been able to do legit strides for a couple weeks because of my foot, and I've missed some fast workouts, so it makes sense that my legs were a little flat when I tried to accelerate. I also think that when I tried to tap into my energy reserves those last couple laps when I fell off Casey, I probably just didn't have as much there since I'm dealing with this cold. Enough excuses though, I'm ready for a big 5k next weekend and this race helped show me that.

I'm super grateful to Caleb for pacing us through 1k, and super impressed that he was able to hold on for a PR.

Foot feels fine.
