Happy, frustrated, all the feelings about this one. Bummed I didn't get to race yesterday even with less than ideal conditions, but the situation itself was just messing with my brain. It's that season right now and it just impacts Brians job which impacts me a whole lot more than anticipated (solo parenting a whole lot more, my own work and running and things being thrown off). 9 months out of the year this new job of his (started last summer so this was first winter) will be so much better for our family but I underestimated the impact these few winter months have on us.

Anyways - the run. I was very excited today to get it done. As life would have it I had to do it with Chloe downstairs with me which usually isn't too much of an issue. She was a little fussier than normal but got through the warmup with maybe 1 quick stop to put her pacifier in and then she fell asleep.

changed my shoes and got to the 8 miles. I started probably a little slower than needed but eased in the first half mile or so.

Mile 4.96 for some random reason the treadmill screen froze and belt stopped. I swore (a lot) but thankfully had enough time to snap a picture of the screen so I knew my time/distance. I had to wait for it to reset, so I could start and finish the remaining 3.04 miles. It was probably 90 sec-2 min stop unfortunately. I was reallllyyy mad about it. Chloe woke up so I spent the last 3 miles trying to calm her down talking to her while also trying to run hard. I got it done but I was emotionally spent. The frustrations of everything kinda hit me at once which gave me fuel to run faster but also kind put me to the mental limit. But, I did it. I wasn't able to get the cool down in because she was LOSING her mind and needed to be fed and Brian and Hannah weren't home yet so it was on me. I plan on getting a few miles in later to shake out the legs tonight.

Overall it was a success. I got the 'race' in and right about where we expected it to be pace wise. 19 weeks postpartum today and really proud of where I am at. The progression of 2 mile splits made me really happy and never once did I need to back off the pace. This season of life is a bit tougher than expected but will 100% get through it.
