Notes
Pretty pleased! Have had the flu and haven't run for the last week as a result. If this race had been yesterday, I would not have taken part. So with that said, 17 seconds off of PB is a great effort.
Due to the flu, I was not really confident that I would even break 48 but the first km felt pretty good despite the pace. There was a fall at the start but I managed to avoid it. Once I got to 3km I kinda knew that PB was gone despite the good start. Too many hills to come and I didn't have a big enough lead. That was actually the last split where I was up on Hässelbyloppet 2016.
I could see the PB pace time getting closer and closer and then slip past me. It didn't help that all of the km markers were later than the watch (that's a first) although the finish was very accurate. The last couple of kms were a struggle (although the heart rate was not overly high) and I managed a bit of a sprint over the last 200m or so.
Overall pleased. 2nd best time ever.
