VO2Max Interval

Goal: 2 x 2k (7:13 pace ea) + 2 x 1k (7:05 pace ea)

Actual: 2k @7:11 pace; 2k@7:11 pace, 1k@6:57 pace, 500m@6:55 pace, 1k@6:54 pace. Overall: 7:05 pace

Not sure what to expect and feet felt better after vs. last week (last week feet really hurt whereas feel simply hurt after this set). The worst interval was #1 where I felt like I struggled and was doubting I could complete this set. #2 felt better at the paces and felt like I was expending less energy. Then made decision to switch to Newtons for the final two 1000m's at what I think my 5k pace would be. It was amazing how I felt in the Newtons and the first 1000m would have been a lot faster since I started out where I thought I would be and kept increasing the pace. When I started the second 1000m I started at 6:58 pace, quickly dropped to 6:53 pace (this felt ok), but began to sense problems w/the treadmill (it started to pause, I could smell that telltale electrical smell) and was forced to abort this at 500m. Jumped to the adjacent treadmill and in a minute restarted #2 1000m -- ran this at what I was going to run the aborted interval. Wearing the Newtons made a huge difference as I felt really strong, good form and finished strong. Could feel improvement vs. last week.
