Fast walked & did drills prior. Hilly route. It was light drizzle when I started and ceased very quickly. It was not as hot as it was yesterday (84) but 2 miles in I really felt the humidity (72 dew pt). After I ran up Park South fr Park (at 2.6 mi) my shorts were soaked and there was no breeze or wind and felt myself overheating. The goal was not to go into heat exhaustion by trying to control my pace. Ran down Park South and then up to Fairview and left to Park Road (no breeze), Turned around and ran back up Fairview (no breeze) and felt myself getting really hot and sweating profusely. Ran up to Barclay Downs and hung a right around the buildings (ran into breeze which was refreshing), but then I ran behind the parking structure it was almost 10 deg warmer and felt like a tropical forest, and started to feel sick to my stomach which foreshadows overheating -- and stopped a little over 5.1 mi. Tried to vent heat & then resumed fr Piedmont Row, felt dead tired and felt tired thru my core, so tried to maintain a steady cadence. Also plateauing at this pace which is almost one min per mile slower where I was prior to injury last Sept??? How can I not improve??
