3 x 2000m @10k pace
Goal: 7:45 pace
Actual: 7:42 pace
Had no clue who this would fare as this is the first run at projected 10k pace after 18 mo of various injuries. Two years ago I used to run these in the 6:45 to 6:55 range! Started conservative on #1 but it was unusually hot in the room where I was running these and I was already sweated thru my shirt. On #2 at about 1/2 way felt a pang of fatigue (where 7:41 felt more uncomfortable than prior) that concerned me but grinded thru it. On #3 ran a negative split where I ran the final 1k at 7:38 pace and finished strong. This was more about being very conservative and making sure I finished. Positive thing is that although my feet hurt post-run, after rolling my feet recovered by the next day which has not occurred in prior workouts.
