Very Easy Run
Ran this very easy and for most of mi 1 and mi 2 and mi 3 into a pesky persistent 10-12 mph headwind. Started on Orchard St bridge & turned into back neighborhood (into headwind) did a loop of Benedict/Thompson/Benedict out on Brookdale right on Rt 22 (mi 1 - mostly into headwind & this felt much slower), looped gas station then looped Otis/Seneca/Tompkins left on Rt 22 & did another loop of Otis/Seneca/Tompkins left on Rt 22 looped around gas station right on Bond left on Harleem right into train station out left on Fisher underneath train tracks (mi 2 - this actually felt the same as mi 1 but 60% into the wind vs 80%?), hung right on Bronx River Trail up to Virginia Rd then looped back (mi 3 - controlled pace & tried to get into a very easy rhythm but felt like I was going to lose rhythm & this felt uneven, ran into headwind the 1k up the trail), ran remaining 1/4 mi on trail right on Fisher to Pkwy (into wind) looped back & then into lower train station lot & did two longer figure 8 loops of lower 1/2 of lower lot (mi 4 - not sure why I slowed down as this was only 40% into wind & felt in much better rhythm), did another figure 8 of lower 1/2 & then a zig/zag loop up & down lower lot (mi 4 - 4.9 - felt more in rhythm running this). Walked to other side, did drills (calves raises, one legged high knee step-ups, lunges). Then resumed down Brookdale right on Thompson to end (mi 4.9 - 5.35 - this felt much slower & very awkward after the drills but had tailwind).
