Fast Interval
Goal: 12 x 1/4 mile descending fr 5k pace to Mile Pace
Actual: 11 x 1/4 mile descending 5k to (below) Mile Pace
Fast intervals are my current weakness as evidenced by this set and how I felt (plus I've been reticent to do these as they put the most stress on the Achilles & especially the recovering stress fracture in right foot) - Achilles felt ok, rt foot did hurt and ache and ache after. Wore trainers for the first 4 of these and then switched into perf trainers. Felt good as I descended this set. Made decision if I ran the first three of the last set of four sub 6 min pace I would only do three. By comparison, pre-injury I ran 9x300 on track averaging 5:33 mi pace (this gap is the widest pre-injury when compared to VO2MAX, Groove, etc.). Hopefully I'll get this benefit of this starting next week.
