5k Time Trial

Goal: 20:24

Actual: 20:18 (6:33/6:37/6:31/35.6)

A solid improvement over the 20:35 5k I did in a time trial 5 weeks ago. Here though, I did not feel great. Legs did not feel "springy" or "quick". I programmed in 6:35 pace on the watch and this felt a tad fast over the first two miles but hung in there. When I hit the 2.6 mile mark, decided to pick up the pace (did/could not do this 5 wks ago) and began descending pace. Felt that the recent 5 week training bloc was very positive in terms of building strength and speed (the slow healing of the groin/leg helped the latter). Not near where I was in mid-June (I went a 26:19 4 mile and could not do that today). Need another 4 wk cycle and then a 6 week specific phase to really sharpen (4 wks brings me to Thanxgiving). Will attempt a race in two weeks as that falls nicely into training bloc.
