Long Run

Ran a very winding and hilly (steep hills) course around South Pk (sort of ran the Turkey Trot 8k course but ran extra loops at various locations to get this to 10.75 miles). Right foot hurt prior. Fast walked & did drills prior. Controlled the pace but it was really (really) humid (66 dew pt). Ran the laps up the steep hill on Barclay Downs twice (and then down/around Carnegie), ran down to Runnymeade and then 3 laps around Alex Graham track, & then up Runnymeade to Sharon and back. Miles 2 & 4 were up, Mile 8 was very rolling, mile 9 "straight up" fr the nadir on Runnymeade to the top of Sharon. Starting at mile 8 the shirt I had tucked in my shorts began to get heavy w/sweat (my shorts were soaked) and pull down my shorts to where I could feel the crack of my butt exposed (and I would pull them up), and this torture went on for a mile before I had stop (tightly tie my shorts) and it stopped! At ten miles stopped at Harris Teeter to buy a tub of lettuce that I had forgotten earlier. So after mile 10 ran holding a tub of lettuce in one hand (at midnight) - right foot hurt and my stride/form felt terrible. Got to my water bottle, picked it up and was now running w/my 24 oz water bottle in left hand & tub of lettuce on my right hand. And then decided to push the final .15 of mile (felt strong and surprised at the split especially given holding a big water bottle in one hand and a tub of lettuce in the other)!
