Longish Run

Run this purposely very slow. Fast walked & did drills prior. Very warm out. Started fr Whole Foods & noticed almost immediately that my legs/hips felt so much better & this felt "more easy" compared to last week. Just focused on maintaining quick cadence & super easy. Ran down & right on Sharon & right on Sharon View to Cottswold. Rather than looping in the parking lot decided to run around the back which was a huge mistake as I did not see a 4" high glob of concrete embedded in the road & tripped & splatted face first into the road gashing my left elbow (which bore the brunt, left knee & right hand). Blood was all over the place on left elbow (which I did not realize until I finished). Continued on & ran around & then out of Cottswold right on Randolph & then looped around twice past Sharon View & then go back to shopping center at mile 5 (at this point I was really sweating). Ran back on Sharon View to/past Providence (m 6), focused on form/quick cadence in mi 7 but towards end of mi 7 had to jump fr road back to sidewalk right where sidewalk had a big indentation where I planted (forced to stop as it felt like I badly spained/broke my left ankle - fortunately the pain was brief). Resumed up Sharon View (felt good climbing the hill) & hung left on Sharon to finish out mi 8 --- had thoughts about going 8.5 mi but almost exactly at 7.8 mi my legs completely lost their "spring" and my muscles felt like a stretched out rubber band - and grinded out these final 320m.
