Notes

Long Run

75 deg / 38%H. Very pleasant conditions. Started at Torrington and ran around office lot and to end of Endhaven and back and down to McMullen Greenway to Trader Joes and then back. Was toying with how to run this and then settled on running it as slow as possible but maintaining a quick cadence / short stride. I figured this would minimize the stress placed on my Adductors and allow me to recover better. The first 5 miles before I got onto the greenway felt like 9 min pace (taking miniscule strides and this did not feel like any effort & I was carrying a big water bottle). At 5 miles took my shirt off, put my water bottle down, and the next four miles (out and back to Trader Joes on the greenway) felt so much easier w/out lugging around the big water bottle. My pace over the next four miles felt faster than the prior 5 miles (which it wasn't) & maintained same cadence. Noticed that when I went past last week's long run (8.5 miles) did not feel any "energy sag" and able to maintain same cadence thru the to the end. Will toy around w/running long runs slow (w/quick cadence) as it does seem to minimize stress on Adductors.
