Easy Run [8:03 pace p mi adj for heat].

81 deg / 51% H [62 DP]. Made some changes in form where I consciously focused on "torqueing" my core and kept my hips in front and strong. This felt so much easier in terms of effort and much more fluid/lively (as if my body had "spring"). But it was brutally hot and w/the dew point over 60 I started to really "feel" the heat only 3 miles in. My pace aligns exactly to how I felt as the hotter I felt the slower I got. Noticed that at mile 4 I was really sweating and forced myself to stop at around 5 miles because at that point my shorts were soaked and felt really overheated. After this, instead of feeling better felt worse, and when I got to mile 6 really felt awful (and my pace dropped even more). At this point it was a struggle just to keep going (and kept focusing on keeping my hips up and out but it was a monumental struggle). When I got near the end of mile 6 running up Morrison and turning right on Sharon I started to feel as if my shorts were coming off -- I've never felt this before, I thought for a second that I was losing weight, and then realized it was because my shorts were so laden w/sweat that they were falling down, I actually had to reach back and try to pull them up as I could only feel my butt becoming exposed (and they were tied)!!! If this was not worse, about 1/4 mile later it was like a hand of God came down and held me in place because all of sudden my pace felt it dropped to 11 min pace and there was nothing I could do about it (other than grab the back of my shorts again to pull them up!). Struggled mightily at this point to finish out (can't believe mile 7 was 8:35 when I felt so so awful). Fortunately hit traffic trying to cross Fairview, then resumed and after about 1/3 of mile my watch beeped so I knew I had only 1/4 mile to go and tried to finish strong and pick up the pace (where again I first had to pull up my shorts!)!
