Long Run [7:58 pace p mi adj for heat]
Run along Rye & Playland Beach areas. 73 degrees, 81% humidity. It felt brutal with the high humidity (its worse here in NY vs. Charlotte). Totally soaked when I finished (shoes were squeaking as if I ran thru a lake, socks totally wet). At about 5 miles in along the shore my route was flooded so had to double back. The sidewalks here are battered fr the brutal winter & big storms over the summer including Hurricane Irene (pot holes in them, uneven, a nightmare). So when I was on the sidewalk I had to constantly cut my stride short to avoid all of this (which slowed me down). In miles 4-6, along Kirby Lane to the shore, the road was in really bad shape as I had to tack side to side to avoid the mess.
