Easy Run [8:10 pace p mi adj for heat]

74 deg / 19%H [29DP]. Did 2x drills (18x running butt kicks + 8 side leg stretches + 10x high knees). Started out and did not feel any real pain. Wore the more cushioned shoes and felt 100% better vs. yesterday. Was able to get into a good rhythm (quick cadence, short stride and glutes firing) through the run. Also noticed that this run felt so much easier than prior runs (but still not easy enough). Ran this by feel and tried to keep a steady pace, and also tried to focus on steady progress up any inclines. Towards the end of mile 5 monitored progress and saw that mile 4 was 8:36 (wow -- didn't feel like that) and mile 5 was 8:22 -- so I tried to concentrate on a quick cadence and short stride for the next 1.5 miles. Felt better but when I saw split (8:30) was laughing and literally scratching my head to figure out what the heck is going on.
