Easy Run (Injury Recovery)
Lifted, then fast walked 1.5 mi prior to warm up & assess left foot (felt ok). Then did drills - left foot really hurt on 1st set of 20x running butt kicks. Did 3 sets of drills & left foot hurt the same or less on #2 and #3. Was going to shut it down given the pain but decided to run a 1/2 mi to evaluate. Started on the dirt trail and felt pain in foot (in the ligaments), about a 6 out of 10, ran 1/2 mi and pain fortunately did not get worse but found that if I turned left it would become worse so tried to avoid any left turns. Continued on and stopped at a mile to assess (no pain when I walked around). then ran another mile this time running 1/2 lap on dirt trail & around parking lot on the asphalt to test how things felt on a harder surface - foot hurt much less to where it was about a 1-2 on a 10 scale after mile 2. Then ran the final portion (going to 5k) mostly on the asphalt where pain again was in the 1-2 range which was a blessing. Real important thing is that pain did not increase but subsided & no post-run pain. Sweated like a pig given the sky high humidity.
