Did not feel "right" going in. 60 degrees - 95% humidity. Ran on pace for first mile. In mile two I began to surge forward (my plan) This may not have been the optimal strategy given how I felt later in the race (w/the humidity) & a 4% grade hill over 1/3 mi at mile 2.1 to 2.4. About 100m after clearing hill, began to feel really "overheated"& in last 1/2 mi had to stop and walk twice? Very disappointing!! Ran final 1.1 mi in 7:48 (7:05 pace) obviously being impacted by walking twice!

2nd Mi: 6:27 (13:02 cumulative)
3rd Mi: 7:48 [7:05 pace
In future races, have to recalibrate impact of weather (previous two races humidity was very low & I negative split both), placement of hills and when/where I want to surge.
