Very Easy Run
Brutally hot/humid. Lightning flashes to the east, north, west & south. Ran this at very easy as it seemed it may rain (and it sure did!). When I started the lightning flashes got closer & closer so decided to run all of this in Phillips Pl to avoid being in the open. Ran loops around the parking lot where the movie theater is (mi 1-2: very very easy, it was very very uncomfortable but felt ok, lets did not feel "dead" which is what I feared). then it started to rain harder, and harder to a torrential downpour, continued running loops in the movie theater area (mi 3 - it started to flood, my shoes were soaked, there were deep puddles beginning to form everywhere), it was now a torrential downpour & lightning all over the place, very close & the lightning was cycling every 10-15 seconds which began to make things frightening, looped around move theater then because of the lightning ran back into Phillips Pl hugging the shops to avoid being struck by lightning, I was running in an inch of water which slowed me down like crazy, looped around hotel & it was a flood running along the lower portions - I had to pick up my feet the water was so high (mi 4 - I stopped because the lightning was too scary & grabbed my stuff & walked down to the parking garage & actually finished there.
