Long Run [8:10 pace p mi adj for heat]

73 deg / 94% H / 72 dew pt. I thought it felt cooler but the humidity was sky high. Legs were sore and body hurt from workout last nite (first interval workout in 12 weeks). There was nothing easy about this run, in the beginning legs felt terrible, it was an effort, running up the hills felt like a monumental effort. The only time I felt good an "in-rhythm" was mile 4 and mile 5 (I was able to lock-in). Then at about 5.2 miles in I lost that rhythm feel and everything became an effort/struggle. Mile 7 felt bad (fastest mile?) and then I vowed not to stop running up the big hill on Sharon View to the corner of Sharon (this really hurt and at this point was dripping in sweat). All I could think about is how much of a struggle it is over the 4-5 weeks it take to extend my long run from 8.5 miles to about 11.5 miles (I extend it 1 mile each week but that period of time is torture -- and for whatever reason, once I hit 11.5/12 miles its not a struggle anymore and I can then fast finish whereas now I'm hanging on for dear life to finish).
