Speed Set

Goal: 3 x 500m, 2 x 1/4 mi, 3 x 300m

Actual: 2 x 500m (8:02 pace), 6 x 200 yds (7:01 pace)

This was a complete disaster to where I was literally concerned I could collapse or worse. I've never felt this way in any set. On the 1st 500m I did not feel right, about 100m in it felt like I was "winded" & could feel myself struggling & dread this feeling. I ran this slightly slower vs the first 1/2 mi segment last week. So on #2 at 150m in it felt like I was having an aneurysm as I all of sudden it felt like I was not getting enough oxygen in my muscles & I could feel this weird pain or almost blockage in my core where my aorta is - it just got worse & I was afraid I was going to have a heart attack or something - when I finished my pace was slower vs the 2nd 1/2 mi segment last week (so I knew something was wrong). When I jogged back it felt again like I was going into oxygen debt. So then decided to run only ~200m segments -ran 6 - the first three they felt horrific as I really struggled & worse at 100m mark my body was in serious oxygen debt to where I could hardly feel my legs & felt dead, and when I finished felt like I was going to faint or collapse. On the next three I seemed to "recover" to where I felt relatively stronger after 100m & noticed I was not going into oxygen debt on the recovery jog.
