Easy Run [7:43 pace p mi adj for heat]

81 deg / 39% H [54 DP]. CLT Runners Tue nite run - Booty Loop (25 runners -- got there so late that I passed most of them coming in along greenway to the hospital). Did 2x drills prior (no pain in right foot during butt kicks). Started out and felt pain along outside bottom of right foot (about a 4 on a 10 scale but manageable). Legs did feel as fresh as they yesterday. Tried to focus on getting into a sustainable rhythm which I did over the first 2 miles (pace felt like 8:20 pace). Pain subsided about 1 mile in. Starting when I got past Queens U to the bottom of Queens Rd (fr abt 2.25mi to 3.1 mi) once again I could feel myself "losing my rhythm" and really tried hard to stay in the flow (tried to small adjustments -- lower hands, shorten stride, etc.). I have to believe this is more about boredom as when I got the hill on Queens (3.1 mi in) there was a guy abt 100 yds in front so my focus was on making steady progress up the hill and rhythm came right back, caught him right on the top of the hill. Controlled the pace coming down Queens and along Kings and when hit the 4 mile mark saw 8:01 (assumed abt a 20 sec heat adj) & further eased back. Focus over remainder was to focus on form as there was no pain, and to "power up" the remaining steeper climbs.
