Long Run

54 degrees. Ran down Sharon, left on Quail Hollow, left on Carmel and up past Colony, turned around in tennis courts and then back to Phillips Place. Did 2x drills after "warmup jog" to get legs going. My legs felt good as this course (an up and back) was downhill the first 2.5 miles, then uphill the next 2. After I ran up the steep hill at the end of Quail Hollow and then left on Carmel, felt strong and in rhythm. and since the first 2 miles were mostly downhill I felt felt I was moving along at a good clip. After I turned around, began to feel an "energy sag" right when I started mile 6 where I felt like I was slowing down as that "fatigue" feeling set in (and began to feel pain in right Psoas as I was going downhill), Mile 7 involved primarily that long hill up Quail Hollow which felt like a struggle. My splits show the complete opposite as when I felt good I was going really slow (almost snail like) and then when I felt I was noticeably slowing in mile 7 that was the fastest mile up to that point? I saw the 8:39 split in mile 8 so I tried to adjust my cadence over the final 1.5 miles to finish strong (no pain over the past 1.5 miles). Prior to that, I have to believe the regression in this injury and not being able to run any workouts or strides is really slowing me down (which sucks because sometimes I feel like I'm "slogging" and can't do anything about it).
