Easy Run

Lifted, fast walked & did drills prior. Felt hot (70 degrees) & felt sore/tired fr yesterday's workout. Started in parking lot at HarrisY & did two loops & then up Sharon (mi 1 - felt tired but got into good rhythm using hip flexors & trying to maintain quick cadence), ran up & left on Rutherford & then right on Sulkirk & right on Park South (mi 2 - felt some slowdown because I started to sweat because of the heat & decided to control my pace). At this point I began things actually felt "easy" and that was because of the quick cadence & then thought that I may have been overstriding causing all of the issues w/lack of improvement. So at this point I tried to really focus on cadence & "count steps" in the absence of running w/a metronome - and do this by telephone poles. Last time I did this it takes a lot of concentrated effort over 1 week to 10 days to imprint the muscle memory. Ran down Park So left on Fairview looped around & then up Fairview looping around Panera & then up and around the back of the corporate park where Zoe's is to the BOA (miles 3-4 - at this point I could feel the heat getting to me as well getting somewhat tired fr this radical change in running form). Slogged it up Fairview & right on Sharon & ran down past church & stopped at mi 5 as I was covered in sweat & beginning to feel sick to my stomach fr the heat. Stretched & then resumed the final two miles down Sharon & back to Y. The consistency in the splits tells me my forms was spot on & whenever I transition to this I'm usually slower for several days getting used to the new form.
