Goal: "Broken Tempo" - run 2.75 mi at an uptempo pace & then 2 x 1/2 mi @ VO2Max
Cannot fathom how the first 2.85 mi represents "uptempo" but that is how far I have fallen. It literally blows my mind how slow that was and worse I expended an effort to run this. The high humidity (66 dew pt) really took a lot out of me I was hoping to run 8:20 pace on the 1/2 mile segments given how slow I felt over the first 2.85 miles & how I tired I felt at the end of the 2.85 mi. In the first 1/2 segment I felt stale as if I could only run at that pace (I was actually surprised I ran that given how tired I felt). After a jog recovery, ran #2 & this felt like the same perceived effort & my only goal was to break 8 min pace & thankfully I was a lot stronger vs what I felt as at least I finished the last 1/2 segment strong.
