Easy Run

65 degrees, low humidity. Ran down to Park fr Whole Foods back and around Carnegie and then thru S Park mall out to Sharon and back. First run attempted in five days recovering fr quad strain (have three distinct knots in lower lateral, lower medial and mid quad) and adductor strain all in left leg. Goal was to get a least 25 minutes and at a max 4 miles. Started out and had that "have not run a month" feeling & legs felt light. The tightness/discomfort I started to feel when running was different compared to fast walk -- felt some discomfort in adductor about 4 inches below where I felt the pain from last week and in lower medial quad. From 5 minutes in to when the first mile clicked, the discomfort in adductor area was "hard" pain (could feel that the muscle was very tight) and this felt like when I had the hip flexor issues where the muscle would get hard in the beginning and then relax -- but I felt that immediately. As I rounded Park and ran up a small incline, that pain went away. A little while later, could feel tightness across lower quad and inside of mid-quad (stopped at 14 minutes to walk around traffic and could really feel this and worried I may have to stop). Continued on and the tightness (fortunately) began to abate so at that point targeted 4 miles.

After I finished, could feel that tightness across lower quad and mid-inside quad. Immediately rolled it w/lacrosse ball (this hurt like hell) for 8 minutes and felt significantly better (then went to lift and more rolling/stretching).
