Easy Run

58 deg / 20% H. 8-10 mph breeze in face on way back. Out and back fr Scarsdale HS out to Rt 22 and then to Vernon Hills shopping center and back on Nelson to Baraud Rd and then back down to Rt 22 and back. Did 2x drills (18x running butt kicks + 8x side leg reaches + 8x high knees) to get legs going. Started out and felt no pain to start but felt various "pangs" over the first 1/2 mile. Legs felt good and fell into a good cadence. The 2nd mile felt slower vs the first and then they all felt the same. Felt good over the first 4 miles, and right at that instant started to feel "out of rhythm" and slower (as if I was "forcing" things). After about 1/2 mile was able to rally back by focusing on form and cadence. At almost 5 miles stepped on a rock I could not see on the sidewalk and fortunately it was on the outside of my foot but felt burning pain in my Psoas for the next 30 seconds. When I hit 5 miles focused on cadence and strong form to avoid dying over the last mile (vs. my prior runs). Overall, this felt "easier" vs prior runs but its "still not easy" in terms of how this feels.
