AT (Aerobic Threshold) Tempo Run
Course: Hwy 51 left on Colony, right on Johnston Rd, left on 51, left into McMullen Creek Greenway. Wind in my face first 1.75 miles. 75 & cool until I entered Greenway and then very noticeable increase in humidity.
Goal was 7:25 mile pace & to negative split effort. Actual was 7:17 pace & adjusted for heat = 7:08 & a nice negative split/descending effort. Did not monitor pace but HR (noticed I was at around 140 after 2 miles so I felt I could pick up the pace a little and went on feel). After mile 4, focused on form (using hips and paw-back) and lifting knees up on uphill segments (the latter made a big difference). Overall AHR hit my Aerobic Threshold HR right in the bulls-eye (150).
