Easy Run (but run harder than easy pace on purpose)

Started fr Whole Foods & the goal was to run 4 mi at a harder than normal easy pace. Amazing how slow the first mile was given that felt like the fastest mile. The way this felt was mi 1 felt fast, mile 2 slower and then mi 3 & 4 about the same as mi 1. Actual splits were different. This is similar to run in Oct where I ran at around 8:50 pace & marked when I began to run consistently in the 8:40 to 8:55 range (after being stuck in the 9+ min doldrums). Ran left on Fairview left on Sharon right on Rutherford (mi 1 - focused on cadence & form & this felt much faster vs actual); left on Sulkirk left on Sharon up & then down past hotel left into Sharon Roads shopping center (mi 2 - this felt slower vs mi 2?), ran into shopping center & out past Harpers crossing Fairview & down Sharon past Morrison past Colony & then left into far parking lot of Inspire (mi 3 - felt like mi 1, was sweating but it was still cool out), ran around Inspire & then another loop around Inspire & thru Earth Fare shopping center right on Sharon crossed Colony then Morrison to BOA (mi 4 - this was more effort vs prior miles). If I wore flatter shoes I would have been 10 sec/mi faster - they make such a huge difference running (put me into a much stronger form).
