Notes

Night before: Subway sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki Foot Long. 1 Full water bottle or more. Morning of: 1 Oatmeal Raison Cliff Bar and 3/4 bottle of water. 20 mins before the race: half Untapped Maple Packet. Found out that we would not have 5 people to fill our team right before the race. That was a bummer. But the show must go on. Wasn't feeling all that great stomach wise before the race, but still stuck to the plan. I was going to try and go out conservatively and then move up from there. Was through the legit mile mark in 7:25 with Dan and Alex just ahead. Started to lose a little ground on them both in the second mile and Dan was already pulling away from Alex. By mile three I believe that I had passed Alex and was started to move up some more. I knew that I was not having a great day at this point. I just could not get my legs to move. I still think the marathon was just in them. Regardless I still kept pushing. During mile 5, which is the toughest mile, I got re passed by Alex, Dave Dunham and Francis Burdett. I was not very happy about this as the first female went by me around that point as well. There was nothing I could do though.... Cardio was fine, I just could lift my legs. I regrouped around mile 6 and started to catch back up to a few people. In the last .6 I was able to pass three to get me back to 24th place. I got back by Alex with that last .6 to go. I worked hard and gave it all I had today. The weather was absolutely perfect. No real wind, 58 at the start and 48 at the top. Could have been a great day to run fast. Princic went 1:08:31 for 10th and that is where I should have been.

SPLITS: 7:25, 8:44, 9:22, 8:08, 33:41(Half Split), 1:24, 10:29, 10:23, 10:16, 6:14.... finished strong.
