Notes

The plan was simple start slow slow slow! Well I thought I did, and then it only got slower from there. It was hot and muggy, but I just plain and simply did not have the cardio or leg stamina today. First mile I felt ok, and was sitting in like 17th place. I was hoping to move up from there. By the end of mile two I was really hurting. Breathing was red lined and legs weren't picking up well. By 2.25 I had to walk. Weak, I know... Then it was off and on run / walk the rest of the way. I really saw how slow walking was compared to running. It is was better to be barely running than to be walking. Splits for future reference: 8:45, 10:09, 10:55, 6:54. Allergies have been a big problem as well right now. I need to keep taking the Alevert in the future as I stopped last week and had to get back on it. Felt sick, but wasn't. 21st overall out of 200.

*Also I was not able to run for the past 4 days due to a left achilis strain. Was not even sure if I was going to be able to run this morning. It was a bit sore but not too bad during and after.

*Eric Blake broke his course record today. Guy is a beast! 27:57! I predict he goes 59:10 on Washington.

Good to see you getting in some hard, uphill running. I had a hard time finding the Ascutney results. Thanks for posting them on your log.

Looking forward to Mount Washington. Have you decided on any travel plans for the weekend? I'll be going solo, heading up as early as possible (leave Reading by 2:00) on Friday afternoon. I'd like to camp in Moosebrook (Gorham) or Dolly Copp (near the auto road base). I think Newbould is camping with his wife. Looks like we have a small group entered.
