What a crazy race that was! They started 10 mins early due to the thunderstorm that was headed our way. They yelled go and we bolt across the field. Here comes the storm! A deluge ensued! I had one of my contacts pop out it was raining sideways so hard and the other contact went sideways. So here I am running at 5:00 pace diving down into a flooded trail with rocks and roots with a contact on the side of my eye and one almost on my face. I couldn't see a thing! So Kev is in front of me and I just focused on his jersey while I got my eyes back on track. The rest of the race was just a constant back and forth with Kev leading and me bouncing between third and fourth. I thought I might get back up to Kev near the last half mile, but could not close the gap. The legs were tired from the day before, but I was actually really happy with the result in those conditions. Not sure if this is my last race of the season or not. Hunting season is upon us.
