Wasnt feeling well at all today... not sick, just the pinched nerve in my back really killing my stride and me as I ran. I actually wound up having my best Grand Prix finish , placewise ever at 15th! Best was 16th a few years ago. Went out in 5:02 with Princic and felt ok... The neck was alright... Got a nice smooth 2nd mile at 5:13ish and still felt pretty good. Then in the hillier sections where I usually kill it, my neck tightened up bad. Mile 3 and Mile 4 really sucked and I dropped off the pace... I knew that I was our fifth guy at the start of the last mile as Keven O'Niel and Joe Navas had gone by me. I was just trying to hold on and make one last surge if I could. My neck kind of eased out a little right before the last mile and I just changed gears and made a go of it. I passed Navas and then Keven and Mahoney (CMS now) and surged for the finish. We lost the Team Open to CMS by 4 Seconds and that sucked as I know if I had been feeling better I could have made up that difference. Next week is the 6k and I plan to destroy. Gotta get this neck straightened out and then its on!
