8 x 1K @ 5K Pace (2')

Solid first workout back. Jumped in with the top group of Weem, Choi, Josh, and Somerfield. I was a bit apprehensive going in since I haven't been on the track in a long while, and the guys are clearly pretty fit from the way they've raced to open their seasons. Went in with a goal of getting to 5 and re-evaluating at that point.

First two reps were pretty relaxed. Definitely eased our way into this one. 3 and 4 were a bit quicker, but still felt EZ PZ. I was up to lead for #5. Hit the 400m at ~72 and came through 8 ~2:27. Chilled the last lap and still hit 3:05. Felt smooth as butter for me, but some of the guys were feeling it there. Definitely due to me being fresh while they've all been putting in miles, workouts and races. 6 felt smooth again. Hit the last 2 pretty good with Ryan. We were in a good rhythm and cruised along. Could feel the strain, but overall, this was a manageable workout definitely I thought. Not a bad starting place.

Decided to wear my track flats for this. Probably a mistake because I developed a pretty huge blister on my left, middle-forefoot. Pretty tender rn. Going to have to take care of that, never really had any blister problems before.

Mobility after. Rolled out when I got home. Tight calves. Heel drops. Achilles feels good tonight. Hopefully tomorrow too :)

If this is my only workout of track season before I get hurt, at least it was a good one.
