40' Steady State
First longer continuous tempo of the block. Going to make these the focal point in training for a while and try to build the base back up. Today went well. Was hoping to average ~5:45s and feel smooth doing it. Made sure to go out conservatively with it being warm. Hit 2 and realized I had to shift gears or I'd get stuck going 5:5X the rest of the way. Hit the old 4 PPM mile mark (3.92) in 22:30 which gave me some confidence. Came back and ended up splitting the last 4 miles in the same time as last weeks short tempo. Felt strong the whole way and always felt like I had more to give. Happy with the effort. Onto the next one.
