Notes

rpe7+. Stretched worked abs. Ran 1 mile stopped stretched. Ran 2nd mile at a slower HR as to attempt to decrease the huge difference in run pace from mile 2 to final 2 miles. Although I did run at a lesser HR during mile 2 than normal, it was still my fastest mile and my pace still greatly fluctuated. BY the time I reached mile4 I was already running 30+ secs slower and my HR was slightly elevated. On mile 4-5 I tryed widening my stride. Still ran about 89-90 cadence. Whereas I was running a cadence around 93 beforehand, Although I thought I was increasing my stride in order to see if my HR would not come down, I apparently did not do such a good job of increasing my stride. 89-90 cadence is not much of a diference, And did not make any difference to my HR. I always make an effort to slow the pace if my HR elevates. I think this is obvious when reviewing my mile splits above. The run felt fine. Comfortable. In my years past, I never wore a HR monitor. But knowing what I know now, I could guess that on my easy runs I would run in the 150-160. Just guessing on rpe. But did not have as much direction then as I do now. When I was younger I could just lace up the shoes and run,. Now that I am attempting to balance 3 disciplines and am older it is productive to have more discipined workouts..I am sure the humidity is affecting my runs. My hope is to keep pluggin away at my current efforts and to build fitness before IM. And also I should notice a more linear HR to pace graph with faster splits as the weather cools in OCT.
