Notes
7 land barriers, 9 water barriers practice on turf
Learning outcomes of today:
-I landed on one foot when doing the water jump practices which is a step forward (pun intended).
-Confirmed that extra stretching and mobility before is necessary to jump well. My legs felt tight and a bit heavy which led to a choppy stride and I never felt like I got into a good rhythm.
-Gotta get the speed in the last few steps before the barrier to get a good jump.
-Focus more. My head wasn't really in it today and it showed.
Today also proved that my quad issue flares up more when it's overused. Up until today, I always hurdle and land on the quad that's always sore (or have landed both feet in the water pit). But after landing on my left for the water barriers, I am feeling a slight ache in my other side. This is ultimately inevitable to avoid impact, so it's good incentive to be good about rolling/stretching/recovering before and after.
