I know one workout isn't more important than the others, but I've been trying to build confidence and prove to myself that I am stronger than I've shown. And this seemed to be a bit of a step backwards. It's hard to be looking up and watching that physically slip away during the intervals, when I wasn't even able to keep my own pace. In all of the last three intervals, after 400 meters in, I just felt like I was in one of those dreams where you're trying to run away from a bad guy, but you just don't go anywhere. Usually I am able to snap myself out of those moments and at least be paying attention, but I don't remember much of what happened during the intervals.

A workout is a workout though and it's always a good learning experience. I've been going with the "take it race by race, day by day" mentality, and it applies to workouts too. I was struggling with breathing since the beginning and that's no excuse, but I do feel like I did the best I could for that day.Time to brush it off and keep moving forward in these days leading up to our most important time of the season. Almost time to harvest these carrots!
