This was a difficult run for me, probably because of the quantity of speed-related work I did this week. I've been noticing that my knee bothers me more after I run a steep decline. For this run, that happened somewhere after mile 3, near Bear Tavern Road. The knee pain made the next few miles troublesome so I slowed things down and took the remainder of the run at a much slower pace. I really need to address the knee problems because the Pocono Mtn Marathon has lots of downhill running.

I'm getting the feeling you are not letting the knee recover. Just as it's getting better you are hammering some kind of speed work out. Just a hunch. I know what it's like though to not want to sit around and lose your fitness. Maybe reduce the miles a bit to see where you are at? By the way, you are right with your assessment of my time trial. lots of factors there.
