It's a scorcher outside this week. Going out yesterday was rough - so this was an indoor run.

This was a really hard run. I had hoped to be recovered enough from Sat's hard 20-miler to put in a simulated 1/2 marathon. It was clear early on that I was not recovered.

Monday's double recovery + yesterday's early morning run in the heat (albeit, very easy) put a mild drain on me.

I did a warm-up mile at 8:08 - then kicked it into near 1/2 marathon pace of 6:35. I eased up to 6:31 and 6:27 for 4 miles. I had to slow it down after completing 5 miles. I eased up for 1 mile - then kicked it back into 6:27 for two miles. I was hoping to go 4 more at this pace - but felt beat.

I eased back up for a few miles in the mid to low 7's and progressed back to goal marathon pace on the final mile.

Tough run... weight is back down.
