Notes

Woke up a bit heavier due to chowing at the picnic and pizza and dessert the night prior. Damn. Weather was unseasonably cooler this weekend, which made for very comfortable running. This morning was very cool for August - NICE.

Ran with Branden Aikens at WF Glen for the 1st loop. Ran a bit slower than usual w/ Branden - just under 8:00/min for the most part, which was where he needed to be. Wasn't feeling too good at the start due to an impending BM that I didn't get out prior.

We stopped at mile 3.2 to allow me to hit the can (Thank God it had TP, or I may have been in trouble). We then finished out the loop. I lost the key to my car along the way somehow, so this run wasn't starting out so organized.

I took a 2nd break after completing the 1st loop to call Jen w/ Branden's phone to ask her to pick me up with the spare key to the Acura.

I ventured out on the remaining 12.5 miles on my own w/ plans to pick up the pace considerably. I did stop back at the port-a-john that I hit earlier to see if I could find the lost key. Having no luck w/ the key, I did feel a little fatigued at gel'd up and took a couple of minutes to get my head straight.

With 9.3 miles to go at this point, i wanted to kick it up a notch... My final 9 miles were pretty quick. I finished out the second loop and added on 3 at the end with the final mile at sub goal marathon pace.

All and all a pretty good run... capping off SEVENTY MILES for the week. Any time you can get to 70, it's reason to celebrate.
