Back at the Wilson River Trail in time for Fall! Hadn't ran up here in several months so I figured I'd make the trip on such a nice day! I am glad I went because the trail was in PERFECT condition and the sun was out. I forgot how soft and nice the trail was and really enjoyed it. Fall seemed to be a good time to visit as everything looked so neat, trail in good shape, no overgrown brush, yet not quite grey and dreary weather yet. It was actually very warm and humid today which doesn't seem typical at this time of year...but I'll take it!

I did 38 minutes out and back which is around 10 miles. The hill climb at the end of the first half was TOUGH. Then again, I was running fast up the hill because I felt good. No wonder it made me hurt! Running this trail seriously makes you strong as an ox. If you can scale the coast range mountains on your run, then you are ready for anything. 2nd half was nice. I went a little faster on some segments and stopped at the river bridge for a few minutes to take in the rushing stream and walk along the banks. Finished at the car and ended up walking a little bit afterward along Elk Creek trail for cooldown. It was neat to see a misty fog hovering on top of the river in the canyon. I managed to take a few pictures on my cellphone of it. Really great early fall run in the forest!
