Notes

I keep forgetting why I love this run so much. It seems that a lot of my most satisfying runs happen on this course. Today was no exception. I felt really good from the get go and just let it happen. I made it up the hill to mile 1 in 7:22, which is a solid time for the 400ft. climb up. I felt good but kept the pace controlled and took in the scenery a bit. I love running up on David Hill Rd., especially on a day when the creeks are swollen from the rains and little waterfalls are created along side the dirt/gravel road. Thankfully, there was no rain today and it made the run that much more enjoyable. I kept the pace strong but relaxed all the way to the Richey Rd. intersection (mile 6.6) and hit it in 42:51. I knew then that this was going to be a great run. I kind of relaxed the next 1.5 miles but still ran a decent pace. The last .5 uphill I worked a little harder and made it hurt a bit at the end. When I finished I was very pleased with the effort and the time considering how low my mileage has been lately. Great day, and as usual, great run at Gales Creek!
