Nice semi-long run at the Banks/Vernonia Trail. Parked at Buxton and went out to just beyond Tophill Trailhead and back. I am happy to report that the ENTIRE trail is now paved! The new sections at Tophill look good with new switch backs (on both sides) that make the up and downhill much more tolerable. I'm pretty sure the trail is now slightly longer than 22 miles due to the extension of the switchbacks. First half of the run my body felt SLOW and sluggish. Not sure why but I did expect to be somewhat slow due to th slight uphill grade. Second half felt a little better and I was able to pick up the pace some. I managed to stay on the barkchip trail 95% of the time which was very nice. I am very happy that they extended it with the new construction. It was a little puddly at times due to the high volume of rain we've been getting the past few days but it wasn't that bad. I did get rained on for a few miles but it did not make me uncomfortable. Overall good run and I'm glad that I was able to go a little bit longer than usual today.
