Out along the old Stevenage Road, turn right towards the Blakemore Hotel and Redcoats, ending up on the London Road (not recommended, no pavement and fast cars), back towards Hitchin, along Queen Street, up Windmill Hill, down Wymondley Road and along the footpath back to the Stevenage Road and the top of the Paddocks. Not quick - waitng to cross roads, running across 2 fields to avoid traffic.
