Tough run - tired and struggling from 37mins onwards. Scenic course and good quality trails. Kept on course in first 30mins, but was holding on from then. I was caught in the last 1-2km by another in my age group, but still got a nice Bronze medal.
A couple of minutes slower than I expected, perhaps due to the heat (it was quite warm in the exposed parts). I took 2 x No-Doz and a Weider drink before, 1 Roctane during the run. Could have done with more nutrition, especially electrolytes, during the race but the last water stop was quite near the end.
GU Recovery drink worked very well - almost no tiredness at all after the race.
