Perfect weather, but a dismal run. I didn't feel good after only around 5km, and was tiring soon after halfway. Halfway time of 1:28:18 was not bad, but I knew it wouldn't last and by 16-17miles I was almost done. From 18miles onwards it was very hard. Not very enjoyable.
Lessons - don't skip the long runs, I didn't have the endurance. Use proper gels not Medalist which isn't tried and tested and didn't give enough energy. And Zipvit almost gave me a enforced toilet break. Back to Powergel next time. I also got a blister from the Hokas which almost brought me to a halt, until it burst. Maybe need some more miles on these shoes.
