7 mile Tempo @ MP, w/ 2 mi w/u and 2 mi c/d. 7 miles at avg pace of 6:53!!
Last mile (mile 7) of Tempo was pushed too hard, though. Pace was about 6:40, AND it was mostly uphill. The avg HR numbers clearly show this was a much harder effort than the preceding 6 miles, so maybe not such a good thing. However, for the first 6 miles, nice to see avg HR and max HR in a fairly tight range -- 158/161 bpm, roughly. For mile 7, it was 164/166 bpm. I believe my LTHR is about 164 bpm, so I don't think I overdid it by too much.
All in all, a very promising workout, especially given the Mile race on Sunday, followed by long run in high heat/humidity, AND Tuesdays 3 x 1 mile Interval workout. I started today hoping to average a 7:05 pace, so my 6:53 was much better than expected. Hopefully, this trend continues.
